If there was a button that let you change sex, would you press it?

Oh boy, this was one hell of a ride! I first found the SCP Wiki in October 2019, and I proposed the first iteration of this idea in August 2020. It didn't go so well. I almost quit trying to write for the wiki. Then, a year later, I tried again. Two months later, I had a draft. Now, it's on the main site.

I have so, so, so many people to thank for this. B_Moves, The_Spider_Queen, barredowl, Nagiros, and cybersqyd for reviewing the concept. OriTiefling and Elunerazim for greenlighting. And, MirageTD, Fish^12, DianaBerry, and Ralliston for critiquing.

Honestly, this is still extremely hard for me to comprehend. I finally got an article posted to the wiki! This piece is very close to my heart as it comes from my experience as a trans woman. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it. Thank you!

It deserves to be higher. Not only is the subject material really interesting and also really unique, the page on 6113-3 is absolutely one of the best articles I’ve ever seen on this wiki! Amazing work!

I said this when I critted the article and I'll say it again — this is fuckin' fantastic. Amazing character work — sidenote: no clue why, but -3 feels like a Rick Riordan character to me, lol — on an article that doesn't feel like it drags on despite being so long (I genuinely didn't believe this was 11k words when I first read it). Amazing first article, and an excellent addition to Deepwell. Can't wait for more articles by you!

Holy crap, -3 reminds me a little of Alex from that third book of that Magnus Chase book series, except Alex was gender fluid. And much weirder.

Glad to see this is up!

I'm sure you've heard this many times by now, but the character work here is fantastic. There's just a sense of rawness that cuts deep for me, not to mention the ending is just perfectly spiteful.

Looking forward to your next work.

Although I might not relate as much with the article's transgender theme, I deeply appreciate the writing, both for the dialogue and for the file. The anomaly itself is interesting. Where did it came from? What are its reasons? Why it decided to help Chloe escape the Foundation? The point where James (or Janet) attempts to release the anomaly for public use is very interesting, as I have not seen that in any other article.

Overall, great article.

If you're referring to the fact that SCP-6113-1 wouldn't perform transition events on Foundation personnel, it's less that they're bigoted and more that SCP-6113-1 could've been captured if it did. There are trans people working for the Foundation. Unfortunately, the Foundation as an entity is hostile towards SCP-6113-1.

Great work!! I was on the fence on the first page, but once you got to 6113-3, and started the character work, and her interactions with Janet, man oh man, did my opinion of the article go way up. I was rooting for her to get adopted into Janet's family, and in fact thought that the article was going in that direction at first, but instead you had the Foundation be the cold bastards they should be, especially for Site-17 Deepwell

I really liked your depiction of the Ethics Committee. Most of the time I see them either portrayed as squeaky clean or having to make decisions "for the greater good", whereas their decisions here didn't serve any kind of good at all, but the Foundation's own! or whereas it might SEEM ethical in theory, in practice, very much not. I think that's an interesting take on them, and I hope to see it more often.

This is the first SCP article that has genuinely made me cry. Not just made me sad, but genuinely pulled my heartstrings and cut deep. The writing is amazing and the characters are human. The depiction of Janet slowly realizing she's trans is well done, and the twist in the final addendum is perfect.

I understand of course that Trans rights tm, there is rainbow everywhere, everyone is fine, but as an evil "intolerant" Russian I couldn't help but comment. Even considering that the Foundation in this universe is an absolute evil, it's unclear how the rejection of the classification of amnesiacs occurred. Seriously. Or apparently they're confused one amnesiac with another. But this is a modern Foundation of 2019, it's obvious that it should be able to use normal amnesiacs without such mistakes. But it can't. Normal amnesiacs are not invented as a phenomenon. Everyone's memory is completely erased and hence everyone's problems. Therefore, if you read more deeply into the story, it's clear that such plot development couldn't have happened.

1 - Your English is completely broken.
2 - How do amnesiacs get rated? (do you mean amnestics? Amnesiacs are those who consumed amnestics)
3 - How is your comment transphobic?
4 - After trying to decipher your "intolerant" (???) comment, I think you're trying to invalidate this article's plot over classification of AMNESTICS (not amnesiacs). This is not the only place where amnestics have been divided by classifications, and I think anyone would understand that these amnestics probably vary in intensity/amount of things to forget. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've seen amnestic classification on Series I SCPs.

Like… What did you even try to achieve here???
