A 7x7x7 m room seems a tad large for a psychedelic room…

Seriously, he has a point. 7m = 21 feet and a 21 foot cubic room is huge.

I'm fine with 21 feet on a side, but 21 feet high? That's far too much. Seriously, make it like 3 meters. Also maybe make the whole thing smaller. Say 5x4x2.5, perhaps?
If it were a normal room, I'd agree, but do know how disorienting it is to be in a room with a really high ceiling? Especially when that room has patterns on it? There's an art gallery in my town with a 21-foot-high ceiling and art covering the walls (which I think acted as justification for the high ceiling when I thought the same thing you guys did). Also, what's your first instinct to do when you see an abnormally high ceiling? Stare up at it and marvel at how high it is. In a room like this, would you really want to stand there are marvel knowing its effects?
Also, ever open up a 3d level editor and build a solid cube? There's a very eerie feeling of isolation in that cube where the height is equal to the width; low ceilings feel like there's at least a roof or you're on the ground. All that negative space adds to that feeling of uneasiness.
Still, I will consider finding a way to hang a lampshade on/justify the high ceiling.
An interesting read! Spaz, has your head-canon Foundation attempted reproduction of the same exact setup of this room in a controlled setting, to try to understand what causes the cognitohazard? Perhaps its effects could be studied or investigated somehow.
Oh, upon mention of the 60s song, the first thing I thought was "Yellow Submarine" - and lol'd, heartily, at the mental image.
I've done the whole 3D level editor thing in the past, and I can vouch for the unnerving sensation… it gets even worse if you load it up and start moving around in it, too.
Seconded. It might be cool to see if they can recreate the effects.
Perhaps a few unsuccessful attempts to scale it down?
Perhaps an unsuccessful full sized attempt, leading to a hypothesis that it might be something to do with the lights?
Or 'worse'[?], a successful attempt, demonstrating that this particular SCP may have duplicates somewhere out there in the real world, leading to a large scale search of other institutions for other such 'time out' rooms?
It was a very good read, although I was expecting a room that only made people dance, but I like this much more
Could we change the last bit to having the body's cellular structure undergo mass apoptosis or something? Cells behaving "suicidally" is highly personified if not downright silly- just feels off-tone.
