A couple months back I sent dune a picture of this guy and he basically came up with a fully-formed idea from that. He was kind enough to keep me in the brainstorming loop, and we worked on the first few drafts of this. After some grit, we let it simmer for a while until I showed it to Elenee. She made some pretty drastic edits to this thing, cutting it right down and giving Mac even more character. Cheers to both of you :)

If I've interpreted this correctly:

"McDonaldland" is a real extradimensional space (classified as Nx-191) from which SCP-6977 originates. In the late 1970s, the Foundation conducted a raid on this location using "Site-25" as a forward operating base — which failed, resulting in Site-25 being overtaken and turned into a McDonalds franchise. 6977 was thought to be an informant for this operation, and was punished by being exiled and turned into a play-place attraction. This explains the real-world disappearance of Mac from McDonalds ads.

Not too sure on the other implications, but I assume this is somehow connected to SCP-6690?

Fucked up world building centred around puppets is hard to do badly, but it’s done very well here. Hope there’s more to come in this setting.

I always knew there was something off about McDonalds…

I like this article a lot, it gives just enough information while still leaving some questions unanswered for creepy effect. I also like the integration of real world McDonalds history in there, I always love when SCPs have just a touch of reality in there!

And the transcript at the end was the perfect touch, turning an already interesting article straight up chilling. This gets my upvote!

I, what, I have no words for what I just read. At first I thought it was a funny little romp into the mind of a cannibalistic (is that the right word? Eh, whatever.) burger man before it turned real dark, real fast. Truth be told though, I was always freaked out by Mcdonalds mascots, even as a kid, seriously though I have a feeling this one is gonna stick with me for a while.
