I decided to no vote this, but I was very close to an upvote. The idea here is simple enough and you do a good job of letting that natural weight speak for itself, but a couple of your elements of execution were kind of heavy-handed. The cleanest example of this is the words manifesting, and there are no other attempts to records of any type of communication at all.

Additionally, 1.2M+ of these things? We've cataloged and buried them all? And now we're going to just…undo that? This is very blunt ending that knocks me out of the tone here. Perhaps if more care were taken to establish our casual dismissal of the event I'd have felt a lot better about it.

The idea here is good enough for me to not vote, but just biffed over the finish line.

It's close, but I think this works. I think the biggest issue is that there's no indication of what these things do when they're not being buried? I have no sense of what it is they're about. If there was even a paragraph detailing their natural behavior, I would feel a lot more empathy. However, that being said, I do still feel something, and I think it's upvote-worthy.

Someone else said that there wasn't enough here, and I agree. It feels like it's missing something, like maybe a better description of what the anomaly does, an analysis of the places it tends to show up, etc. Hell, make it tie into the bogus "Smiley Face Killer" stuff and you'd end up with some meat.

One note of bother: "all instances of SCP-6770 have frequently manifested" just doesn't sound right. The 'all' needs to go.
