Aside from that, I like this. Glad you found that extra thing to make it better.
Animate inanimate objects that act like animals isn't anything new, and the added bit about the ritual isn't enough to make it more than just a dog trapped inside a bunch of tools. I did like the excerpt of the ritual though, that was nicely done.
Caution: Spillage may contaminate unintended vessels.
Always read the warnings section of any how-to guide very carefully.

It's nice, maybe not enough for an upvote, but I don't dislike it. I guess my question is, was he trying to put his dog's spirit into his power tools, or was that the 'spillage'? And if the latter, how'd he end up splitting the soul into five parts?
I definitely have a response to that, but I believe a work should stand on its own without an author/artist shoring it up with explanations. At a later time, when the majority of voting is complete, I'll share my perspective with you. Thanks for reading and commenting. :)
I'm of the opinion that the genius of SCPs lie in the fact that we don't really need those types of answers.

Yeah, I liked that part too. That being said, I didn't enjoy it too much overall, so I'm going to go with a no vote for now.

Funny, but what really secured me was the the ritual part. In my mind, the vast majority of SCPs are accidents caused by some unknown ritual going wrong. Here we have a known ritual with a known side effect if something goes wrong, and we see exactly how that plays out.
The ritual process itself is well done, I love the complicated mundane-ness of it, with that tiny dash of arcane. I actually found myself trying to follow it along, mentally rotating a picture of a dog in my head, until it started rotating it into 4th dimensional space.
I was trying the ritual, but when it asked for images of birds, I got distracted by penguin videos…
