Elevator Pitch: A virus that can reverse age a subject into childhood.
Central Narrative::
1-4 weeks after the virus attaches itself to a human being over age 50, it causes the subject to reverse age until 4-14 years old. The starting age is measured with the amount of hGH in the subject’s blood. The ending age depends on the starting age, the cell termination rate, and the strength of the immune system. The virus is airborne, and also spreads through contact between bodily fluids. It contains a total of 5 agent types, to detect a subject’s age, aid with the rejuvenation, and spread farther than a non-anomalous virus.
The story is told from the perspective of an MTF Beta-7 ("Maz Hatters") Agent named John Regard, when the MTF is tasked with the containment of the virus, as it emerges from a bio lab in Munster, Germany. He was told a nearby hospital called up SCP Site-54, to contain and study the virus, as multiple senior citizens there are shrinking for no apparent reason. He and his colleagues succeed in getting a sample of the virus out of the bio lab, but it's still rapidly spreading across the city. He then volunteers to help guard a blockade around the city to keep the virus in check, to ensure no one enters or leaves without an official access card. Unfortunately, the virus still manages to escape, upon which an outer border around the entirety of Germany is ordered. He still keeps himself as the guard of the blockade around the newly-created inner Containment Zone L4.
"I don't know how far the virus will spread. Perhaps I never will know!" - John Regard.
However, just a couple of days later, he's informed a cure has been found for the virus. He quickly abandons his post, but his colleague wouldn't let him. The reason is, among others, that the cure can only prevent any reverse ageing processes from starting or continuing in an infected person. There still need to be some measures kept preventing the virus from spreading. The endpoint does come only several days later, and John Regard finally retires his post.
