John Green is an American novelist who wrote a book titled "Paper Towns"
With respect to the use of Iota-10 here, them and the Red Herrings aren't the ones who are collecting the samples. The line is:
Upon discovery of a new instance of SCP-6560, MTF Gamma-5 ("Red Herrings") and MTF Iota-10 ("Damn Feds") are to be dispatched to establish a secure perimeter of the location as well as detain any witnesses.
The logic here was that the two combined would provide substantial suppression of dissemination as to the existence of the instance ala Gamma-5 and allow for early detection and suppression of local/state interference ala Iota-10. I suppose one could argue that you could achieve the same result with just Gamma-5, but the Foundation does tend to err on the side of caution, no?
Still, thank you for the upvote. Glad you enjoyed the piece.
