It would appear I've accidentally clicked reply instead of new post and now it's not nesting right. Sorry 😅
And The Moon Will Sing- The Crane Wives (I can only describe it as lullaby-esk folk music but a lot more complex and really beautiful)
Fresh Concrete- Bears in Trees (I haven't listened to a lot of them but they make really pleasant indie music from the songs I've heard).
Idk how obscure these really are, but coming to mind:
I've defined "obscure" here as having never encountered any of this band's music, fans, or merch "in the wild," so to speak.
I also like a lot of individual songs by some more obscure bands ("We Need a Gimmick" by Nekrogoblikon, "Blackbirds Fall" by Black Moth, "Vast Acid" by Ruby the Hatchet, etc.) but don't listen to much of their other music.
Here's just off the top of my head:
Partner - Comfort Zone
(Of the ones on this list Partner are criminally obscure, go buy their music.)
Charly Bliss - Westermarck
Kitty - Running Away
Probably not actually obscure:
Boygenius - Me and My Dog
(Phoebe Bridgers rightfully blew up, but this collaboration is sublime.)
The Mountain Goats - Jenny
Jonathan Coulton - Sucker Punch
Not sure if this counts, but my friends who play Gacha games introduced me to this: A3! and I've been enjoying the music a lot. The JPOP feel reminds me of when we'd all watch shonen anime together and buy Visual Kei band CDs.
Here's what I've had on repeat the past several weeks:
Alright I love music but for your sake I'll give ya 3 songs (If I listed all of em this would be a book)
1.Definitely the song "Isle unto thyself" (https://youtu.be/uQnz55oYEA4) by Joe Hawley from tally hall but the album this song is from "Hawaii: Part 2" is under the artist "Miracle Musical". I will say I'm obsessed over the whole album and is is definitely worth a listen!
2. "Internet Personas" (https://youtu.be/0_XVUlu3Zwg) by Atlas. I really liked this song years ago before I wore myself out on it but a post under this reminded be of the song. Is great music to chill too, but the lyrics are both beautiful and sad.
3. "420-666-6969" (https://youtu.be/NS4uE2rjz4Q) by Peter France feat. Glam Cowgirl. I just like this one its funky :)
paranormal snaptivity by zelooperz
french toast by westside gunn
the 26th letter by Mach-hommy
burden by amine
grace by conway the machine
literally any song by bruiser wolf
lookup fire starter by Tore Florim, he's the lead singer for a small band called De Staat
Strider_Star
So, these aren't musicians I follow but these songs are my absolute favorite in the world; I've listened to them more times I can count:
Hole-Dwelling by Kikuo
On A Red Horse by James Edge and the Mindstep (Animated Gore Warning)
I have a whole list! While this one is not very obscure, the ones that comes off the top of my head:
SNOWFLIGHT by HXVRMXN.
End of the World by FORGOTTENAGE.
