PlaguePJP for giving this a look before I posted and to
Draven Addams for helping me with finding information for the table.
The picture in the article looks similar to Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad. Aside from that, this is honestly really great. I almost cried reading this, because it hit very close to home. I'm not really afraid of death, I already accepted my inevitable fate. I'm just more terrified of never doing enough for my family, who I will have to endure suffering of and death as well. It would honestly feel great if my Dad would conform me about my insecurities… Oh well, +1.
It feels a bit derivative of 4999, which is intentional based on the above comment.
Damn, I really liked it. The only real gripe I have is the first few paragraphs of description don't describe the entity much.
Overall, I liked the predatory angle it took, a fine balance between horror and wholesome.
I really like the historical aspect, and how as the article is in between in-universe reviews, it shows the foundation growing in understanding. However, I find the actual creature a bit dull. Still, I gave it an upvote
It's nice to see a 4999 reimagined, although I think the impact was dampened by the (unintentional) act of forcing a story that encompasses one of the most common themes of loss down our throats; its brevity hurts itself, since in this piece, we don't necessarily get to know MacCarthy1 in this standalone piece sufficiently other than a brief blurb as an afterthought/"twist" at the end. So it didn't quite manage to hit hard, at least for me.
That last interview log was so haunting it really made the article.
+1

i like it already, but i'd like it a bit more if the last paragraph was removed; if you're worried about people thinking he's still preying on people then i'd suggest you'd put an another addendum into the Tartarean section saying something liike "entities originating from Hell and/or spirits who are feared throughout history". the reason for its removal i'd argue is that i already get the gist of it after the second-to-last paragraph with what the article is doing and the last one is like an extra exposionary filler that's unneeded
Not actually that well aware.
