That's a plaster if you're British. :B

So, I committed a cardinal sin with this article.

I had a dream about it. I sat down and started writing. I abandoned it for months on end without leaving myself any notes and with only a vague recollection of how it was supposed to end. D:

So if it sucks, that's why, mea culpa. But I want to get back into posting regularly, I've got so many articles that are halfway or mostly finished, and I'm not gonna make any progress if I just keep waiting around for things to be perfect. So HERE WE GO

And guess what it reminds me of: This joke.
**Three sisters, ages 92, 94, and 96, live together. One night the 96-year-old draws a bath. She puts one foot in and pauses. "Was I getting in the tub or out?" she yells.

The 94-year-old hollers back, "I don't know, I'll come up to see." She starts up the stairs and stops. She shouts, "Was I going up or going down?"

The 92-year-old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea, listening to her sisters. She shakes her head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful", and knocks on wood for good measure. Then she yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."**
So I can easily this is a site where anyone going in inevitably ends up with dementia.
And by the way, where did you get that image you used to cover up the SCP logo in Addendum 02?

Oh, I certainly don't remember anymore. :B

As for the logo, it's not an image covering it up, I used a site to add noise and other effects to the original. I forget what site it was, however! It's probably Googleable.

The exploration logs are spotty at best, but I did enjoy the ending enough to upvote.

Plus, your author post literally echoes what happens in the article, which, I don't know if it's intentionally meta or not, but either way, that's one hell of a parallel.

I did at least remember enough to put the "person sitting in a containment cell" image as the finale of the exploration log. Like, that was a major part of the original idea and it did carry through.

And as I recall, the thesis is something along the lines of "'who watches the watchers' except with 'contain' instead of 'watch'", but frankly, I have no idea what that means, so it's just weird cognitohazard shit. :B

I also love this concept; that's a novel sort of cogitohazard, and has a real vibe of some sort of crosstest or containment measure gone very, very sideways.

I enjoyed reading this, so I upvoted. That being said, I found a lot of the concept muckery to be somewhat lackluster.

The fact that you forgot the ending… kind of shows, to be honest. The image doesn't really work, because it's made abundantly clear from the outset what it is; I get that it's there to show that something has gone so wrong that they can't recognise it, but… eh, I don't know, maybe I was just expecting more of a twist from "image in a collapsible at the end."

That being said, it's still worthy of an upvote, because, well, it's good! I really have a soft spot for "things are weird enough that the format itself cannot really cope with it" style articles, and this does it really well, and the logs were genuinely tense and unnerving. There's a lot of effective off-kilter touches, like the containment procedures being "just keep pouring concrete in," and for some reason that oddly specific descriptive line that popped up again at the end of the log got to me. So, yeah, not perfect, but still good.

good! i like it! it's good! this reads almost like an exercise in screenwriting, to be honest. other people in this thread bring up good points about the symbol being a bit too predictable and the ending falling a bit flat, but overall this was a really interesting read.

It feels like a DoA tale but feels like something even they were underestimating and became something that was convenient for them to forget through it’s own effect. I’m still intrigued to see what others think about it.

I'm not usually one for open-ended SCPs (intentionally or not), but this one actually does something for me. I enjoyed the contradictory notes of happenings in the exploration log, and the general feeling of the SCP itself having amnestic effects.

P.S., I'd love to see this expanded, maybe even adding a more proper ending?

What I get is that:

The location is a foundation site gone completely wrong and incomprehensible.

That said, I think there's more to the story. For example, Zhokov Island is connected to Dr. Strangelove, but I don't know if that's a coincidence or part of the clues.
