when the agents try to find cover, they feel immense withdrawal effects.
Withdrawal from what?
Its brought in and experiments determining it's abilities are done.
Briefly describe the abilities here so we know what it actually does. I'd also recommend against using experiment logs for this; unless it's clear that something is changing with each experiment, it's a lot easier to just write what the skip does in the Description and then show it in action later on. (Also your its and it's are the wrong way round; "its" denotes possession, "it's" is a contraction of "it is".)
The statue offers the researcher an interview with their "match", and states once the interview is done, the statue will reveal more information.
More information is needed here about the "match". Who are they? What interactions do they engage in with Frederickson? Are they a real person? Are they in the same reality as Frederickson? What purpose do the "matches" serve to the anomaly?
After getting some information from their "match", they end up complimenting them, getting sucked up by the statue.
This is where it matters that we know what the anomaly's ability is. There's no reason for this to happen otherwise and it currently doesn't make sense. Also what information? The concept of a dark world portrayed as a good place is a common one, but there's no reason you can't use it if you want to (no pressure, crit is suggestions).
Article ends with the researcher hoping to get more information in the future if the foundation gives the statue more "lovebirds".
I'm not really sold on this ending. It seems pretty vague, "more stuff happens later" kinda stuff. It can work but I think rewinding a bit to the part where the statue is talking about the reality and playing on that for a little longer might leave it open enough that people can infer the ending? You could also create the ending at the point where Frederickson disappears but it might end up being dry and/or predictable. Again, I'm not really sure about where would be the best place to draw a conclusion, but I don't think the current one works particularly well. The rest is mostly solid; answer the questions I've left and brainstorm some different endings to see what fits best with the vibes you're going for. EDIT: I feel like the current ending might be fine, but it's not something that's likely to work for me personally. We don't really see a connection between Frederickson and the other researcher so there's no emotional investment. If there was more of a description of the alternate reality and it was clear the researcher had an obvious interest in conducting the further research, the current ending might land better.
Initial Hook: I think the containment procedures are unique enough to grab interest
You didn't mention conprocs in this thread so I'm going to presume it's leftover from a previous version of this thread. If not, please elaborate.
