Started writing this May 20, 2020.
This is a collab with ValidClay and

Everyone give a nice, warm welcome to Box!
This article turned out to be a lot bigger than I was initially planning for it to when I first started writing it on a whim. It all started out with an anomalous item idea I had about a Teacher's Pet DVD that, when watched, would give the viewer an identity crisis later in their life. That sparked into another idea, which was a box that Eric made that would make the cartoons stored inside it come to life when watched.
Originally, this was just going to be a Series 1 homage with a testing log full of surreal horror. Hell, it was going to even have a collaborative testing log! But while writing this, my collab partner and I realized that we had a huge opportunity to flesh out the story in that first interview log, and so Box became a character, and so did Jacob Sawyer, and so did Grey along the way. The story grew in a slow and winding way, but eventually we decided what story was most significant to us and most important to tell, and we built what we have now!
VaildClay helped me throughout the whole thing but I wrote most of the early stuff (interview log, description, tests) and they wrote most of the later stuff (final testing log, ending log). Absolutely huge thanks to them because they were an incredible help throughout this. JackalRelated helped with the interview log and made the beginning banner, so huge thanks to him as well, seriously. I can't express how much this all means to me. Another huge thanks to stephlynch for creating the excellent diagram of the containment room for my article as well!
I'm really happy to finally have this out there. It's probably one of the most ambitious things I've written thus far during my time on this site, and I really hope you enjoy it!
(I should note that this did take a year, but that doesn't mean I spent all year writing it. There were breaks in-between and I was busy with a lot of projects at once.)
