ive always thought dowsing rods were a fun thing to write about, specially in the foundation world. thanks to kirby for help with the ending.
The dialogue in this is really tight. Thanks for posting!
We do not get many EX SCPs these days. I guess most people do not want to write SCPs under the object class of explained, so this is a gem.
+1
where we landing? not tilted! ッ
I agree with the others that the dialogue is just pure gold here. +1 definitely.
I literally laughed from the start of the discovery dialogues all the way to the end of the article! +1 no doubt!
Spreading negativity to get positivity
Several Foundation researchers were duped by this thing, and the lead researcher didn’t think to install the basic fundamentals of the scientific method before classifying it definitely as an SCP. The backpedaling of Chambers is cute and the feeling of mortification sympathetic, but I’m not sure the wit here is enough of a payoff when asking the reader to assume the competence of the researchers to be so low in order for this to work. I think naming the director after a real author who is the only semblance of smarts by comparison makes this seem a bit snoody instead of being an endearing homage. The dialogue is the strong point and was great to read.
