Want to earn Greenlighting Privileges and/or choose next month's front-page features?
Due to the ever-increasing demand for more skilled reviewers to help out in the forums, the Forum Criticism Staff Team has been holding 2-week mentoring sessions to train up-and-coming reviewers. These are called "Flights".
What does being part of a Flight mean?
- Flight 1 will run from August 1 to August 15. Flight 2 will run from August 15 to August 31.
- Mentors ("commanders") will work with mentees ("officers") in the Writing Help forums to critique concepts and drafts while the officers practice and improve their critique skills.
- At the start of the Flight, officers will determine their weekly goals for two categories: activity and quality. Activity can be something simple like "crit at least one thread a day", quality something like "be more familiar with matching authors to helpful resources/guides/example articles". Commanders will discuss these goals weekly.
- Officers will be taught some forum management skills like how to respond (without backseat modding) to a thread that breaks guidelines.
- If the officers cannot yet greenlight, they may officially recommend concepts to their commander for greenlight consideration.
- Flight teams can have funny/rule of cool names. Commander discretion.
Who are the commanders this month?
The commander for Flight 1 is Naveil.
The commander for Flight 2 is PlaguePJP.

Who can request consideration to be an officer?
Anyone! Newbies and veterans alike are welcome to put their names forth.
What do Flight participants get at the end?
- For as long as the mentorship system continues, Flight teams will select the featured SCP, tale, and GoI format displayed on the front page of the site. Flight team member names will also be displayed on the front page of the site.
- Officers deemed ready by their commanders will be given greenlighting privileges (if they do not have them already), and their names and number of successful Flights will be displayed on the Butterfly Squad Roster.
- (remember, provision of the rewards is up to commander discretion!)
