Long Live the Long, Half-Cat

Happy Memecon!

This article started off with the premise of: 'Longcat is a pretty old meme,¹ what if it was really old' and wound up featuring a shipwreck, J&J Transtemporal, The Commission on Unusual Cargo., and an origin story for a feline friend.

I wanted to submit something for Memecon that I'd be happy submitting without the context of the con. Also, I found some of these images making the 6kollages and wanted to do something with them on the wiki. This is my attempt to do both, and also submit something for Memecon.

Man, this is a really good article. I loved the main story here and the way it represented the concept of elongation. The descriptions used here were really nice. Also loved the ties in to Jossie and the Unusual Cargo Commission. A lot of ideas that mixed really well with each other. Also really like that tarot addenda.

Overall, a really nice article. +1~

I'm glad the ideas mixed well! At a few points while writing I was worried it would read as too disparate and incohesive. Getting to use Jossie (my first series-1 tie in) was a lot of fun. I didn't realize until after I posted that I could have included an extra sentence about her apparent fondness for cheese. Too bad we're only allowed minor typo edits for the con!

Is there any way anyone could fix the handwritten-looking letters' formatting, so that it doesn't splice words at the end of a line? (I can't imagine the author intended for that to happen, it seems like a formatting glitch, but of course the author should probably be consulted.)

As it stands, the letters look physically implausible enough to merit a regrettable downvote on an otherwise pretty good article, but I feel like this problem can't possibly be intentional. I'll novote for the time being. (DodoDevil, if you see this, can you reply to clarify whether or not this is indeed an unintended formatting glitch?) edit: ignore this, see author's reply below

Hi, I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to. On my screen, the text isn't broken at all.

If it's appearing differently to you, either on mobile or smaller window size, that's might just be how your device is displaying wikidot's text and I don't know if there's anything I can do to change that.

Anyway, with that problem being unintended, I'll upvote. The letters were easier to read once I remembered the "view page source" trick for plain text, and I think you've built an interesting epistolary narrative.

So why did the Conceptual Entity cause all of that chaos? Bit confused on why it did all of that.
But overall good story, I liked it.
