This is a memecon entry, based on Grass Mud Horse/Caonima. Since the irl meme was created in protest towards certain censorship policies, I figured a skip that actually does something against censorship wouldn't be too far-fetched (and would tie in well with the Foundation's censorship/redaction). I also wanted to write an anomaly that's created by completely ordinary people: in this case, the people's collective opposition to censorship policies "gave birth" to this nifty little thing, which also manifests in its need for attention.
Saw the draft. Liked it. Upvoted.
All hail the alpaca.
thanks for encouraging me to write it lol
I can't even begin to describe how much I love this. The idea of an animal that requires positive attention from something as cold as the SCP Foundation, with the SCP Foundation needing it to continue is just such a great idea. This deserves so much more attention
Thank you for the kind words! I'm really glad you liked it. And yea, I wanted this to be a kinda different, wholesome approach to containment, where the usual, cold methods aren't sufficient.

Need I say more? +1!
Also, shouldn't this be "Starting *in* 2013,"?
Starting with 2013,
Look at my podcaaaaaaaast!!! It's about SCP :)

Thanks for the doot!
I think both work in this context, and no one pointed it out during critique, but I'll look it up some more and may change it. Thanks for pointing it out!
Loved this as a draft, still love it now.
needless to say, +1
First memecon entry I read, and we're off to a good start. There's a lot here that I love. Hell, actually, everything that is in here is done right.
It utilizes a really strong Foundation concept (Redactions) and plays with it in a really fun and satisfying way; it doesn't feels unnatural since that's the nature of the meme. It humanizes the foundation; through force, sure, but hey, it works. It needs positive reinforcement so they have to give them that.
Lastly, it not only is based off a meme, but it also incorporates said meme as an in-universe concept flawlessly. Like, I didn't even know about this one (Thanks for the meme knowledge!) and it stands on its own really well without needing to know it, which imo is the best way to tell this is a really good entry.
So yeah, this is an amazing article! Def an upvote.
Oh wow, thank you a lot for this wholesome comment! This makes me all fuzzy inside
Definitely love this one.
Doesn't the fact that the reader can see the two addendums at the bottom with the Credential requirement overridden imply that there's already been an information security breach?
If intentional, then that definitely cinches my +1. If not, you still have it, because the article would not hold up as well if they were hidden to the reader.
Thanks for the doot!
As for the "security breach", it's intentional, but I also intentionally left it rather open to interpretation. For instance, it could be a security breach, it could be just an example to showcase the anomaly's effects, it could be a failed attempt to better encrypt data and overwhelm the skip… The list goes on.
I love how the recovery log gives examples of the anomaly that AREN'T Foundation-issued redactions. It would be really easy to focus this concept on Foundation documents, but instead you go out of your way to not do that. Well done.
