This wasnt my thing, it was too long for me while feeling like it could be shorter.
Most of it is good, but I felt it was a bit vague for the amount of time needed to read it. Either the detail per hundred words or the compelling mystery per hundred words needs to be higher than it was for it to grab me.
That's just a personal gripe though. The writing is of above average quality and fits the Foundation tone well. This falls apart a bit in the interviews, but you maintain it for an extensively detailed piece, so good job there!
I also feel it is rather unbelievable in certain ways. 5% of the marine animal biomass swims to this one region off the coast of Sweden? The global animal biomass is about 2 gigatonnes, of which about 75% is marine. You would have 75 billion kilograms (5% of 75% of 2GT) of animals swimming into a small region off the coast of Sweden. Someone would notice that sooner rather than later.
Overall relatively good but not all the way there. No vote from me.
