HEY FUCKERS! GUESS WHO DID IT! Limeyy, margssentif, Quadraginta, chiifu, and CelesteKara does not match any existing user name aka: me.

This was really fun and I did enjoy working with these wonderful folk. This was super huge and just mind-blowing that we pulled it off.

We would also like to thank our absolutely wonderful critters: marcelles_raynes does not match any existing user name, HarryBlank, fairydoctor, Ralliston, PlaguePJP, Rigen, Oboebandgeek99, Calibri Bold does not match any existing user name. You're all wonderful and we love you so much!

This was definitely a fun project. I'm glad I said yes to Celeste (that rhymed!) when se invited me to this shindig.

And to think, "spider 001 proposal" ended up becoming a reality.

Hoo, boy, what a world we live in :'D

This was an absolute blast to write for!

While I didn't join at the start, I still enjoyed writing for what everyone brainstormed; in the end I also ended up contributing myself.

Never thought I'd enjoy about writing spiders for 6000 :D

There's a lot to like here. The worldbuilding is good, the twist reveal of the spider people is great, and the narrative is solid. I do think there are some moments where the dialogue feels a bit stilted, mostly in the shared universe document. My biggest issue is that there's some pacing problems- specifically with the human document. The first MTF log feels like things fall apart REALLY fast, and then after that the article starts to drag a bit.

Honestly though? That's all nitpicking. The article is pretty dang good!

This was an amazingly fun read. Aside from the general concept, and the satisfaction of seeing a full spider themed 6k entry after seeing all the talk in chat, this was just a very enjoyable journey.

I think what this piece does best is how it subtly hides the twist through omission without making it feel out of nowhere. The language in the first document was just different enough that you could feel something was off but still reason it away as 'technical writing.'

Additionally I love the usage of music notation to denote universes, as something related to vibrating strings would probably have a lot of cultural significance to a species of sentient spiders.

It was enjoyable and I have upvoted, but I feel offset two is where the concept hit a wall of seriously diminishing returns.

Your initial document was neat as I still had no idea about what the big twist was, and then the reality of the situation was effectively revealed in offset one. You could have ended the story there and I don't feel like the piece would have lost any of its potency. But then we get to offset two and I just feel like the narrative starts to drag. The MTF logs are not particularly noteworthy, and yet another round of O5 council being paranoid bastards does little to add to the piece as well.

Were you to do this again, I would seriously recommend erring on the side of brevity. That said, the parts I did enjoy were excellent, and worth the +1.

The star of the show is the initial documentation for sure. Subtle and well paced through and through.

I would agree with above comments though. I think this would be improved by just keeping the initial documents and maybe a re-written page showing the development of communications between the two foundations with a bit more elaboration on how the "normal" foundation came to terms with the discovery and the anomalies that influenced their willingness to join forces with the spiders.

THEN, you could come back and take a really solid crack at the actual process of anchoring reality back together in tales or related articles. If you wanted to of course. But like, don't if you don't. But do if you do.

Anyway, I'm down for more spiders.
