Babyggdrasil.

First and foremost I want to thank my co-author Dagel who came up with the concept of a very tiny world tree and giving the article its name. He also wrote the conprocs and helped with the description. If he hadn't pitched this idea to me, I would have went with my original very dumb idea about the O5 being mind controlled by oysters.

I decided that this story could be a lot of fun if taken in an Indiana Jones type of direction and I had fun sprinkling not so subtle references throughout while still making it a somewhat original story.

for crit I must thank Penguin6, Sirslash47, and tawnyowljones who gave me a lot of valuable feedback and the confidence that this story would engage an audience.

Pretty great entry. It's got action, suspense, evil Nazis getting eaten by giant worms, what more could you want? I find it a bit implausible that something like this wouldn't be under more security, but I guess you could explain it as hiding in plain sight. I also really like the idea that the protection of this tree has been passed down through the years.

My main issue with this is that I felt Gunilla needed her personality fleshed out more. Often times she's just describing what's happening, and I feel like we should get more insight into her as a character.

Some may criticize it for being a little too action-movie-ish, but I thought it was really fun.

this was a hugely fun and engaging read that was effortless to immerse myself in. sad this doesn't have a higher rating. +1

this is another article where the actual SCP part is barely four paragraphs, and then thousands and thousands of words of journal entries. there really isn't much in this article that feels like an SCP. some of this could have been included more organically, or converted into video logs / conversations with the foundation. as it is, it reads more like a tale than an article.

Hm. This is a hard one to judge.

Now, on one hand, I really like the narrative presented here. Passing down this Yggdrassil tree from generation to generation of researchers feels cool, and the journals explaining how it all came to be are nice.

However, I have to say, I'm not a big fan of the entire action-packed part of this article, which in turn causes the long, over-explicative journals to feel dragged out. I feel like some parts here and there could use some trimming, or even be reduced to less journal entries.

All in all, a decent article, but one that isn't for me. Novote.

incredibly cool idea mixing up some norse mythology but i feel like you can do better with it because i honestly dont think the foundation wouldnt be studying this thing and its possible orgins *al beit carefully*

So I love this.

That said, I get you're going for Indiana Jones, but I think there could be a bit less. I doubt anyone in her position is going to record a play by play in their journal.

Novote. I liked the piece, but I did not find it strongly compelling.

Here's what I think is the core of the idea, the thesis if you will: love for Norse mythology in its natural form is its own reward, and the vehement rejection of white supremacist attempts to appropriate it. I would go as far as to say that the SCP is a literalization of that idea.

Some brief thoughts on why the piece feels lacking: the vibe I get is Indiana Jones meets MCU. Absolutely nothing wrong with that! But the action sequences only support the rejection of Nazi attempts to claim Norse mythology.

The piece is weighted towards "telling" over "showing" when it comes to the love for Norse mythology in the journal excerpts. It's about her physical journey to evade the Nazis, but I don't feel that it really covers her emotional journey into Norse myth.

The excerpts, as presented, did not evoke a sense of wonder in me, and since I believe the realization of myth is central to the message of this piece, it fell flat.

Hope that wasn't too harsh. I believe the idea of the piece is interesting and there's definitely a structure there, but the potential is ultimately untapped.
