I've joined this site somewhere around 5kon's beginnings — I didn't want to participate, as I thought I would just shame myself by writing something shitty. One-and-a-half year later, I'm here to challenge that thought.

This is… many things. If it's a thing that reads similarly to MayD's SCP-3002 or Placeholder McD's Proposal, then it's because it's been definitely inspired by them. If it's a thing that looks similarly format-wise to Varaxous's SCP-5760, then it's because that formatting has definitely been inspired by that. I also admit to shamelessly having stolen the listpages code from SCP-3002 because dear god is it confusing without anything to compare your code to.

I'd like to massively thank my co-authors, Its a Bad Idea and Trotskyeet, who massively helped me out with this by writing a lot of the final product. Couldn't have done this without you, friends.

Secondly, I'd like to thank PlaguePJP | supremeyeet | R4_EX | GremlinGroup | redredred | Dysadron | FluffyDog00 | Sidewindered does not match any existing user name | totallynotenby | AnAnomalousWriter | AmserTheTree | Veralta does not match any existing user name | TheRiceandCake | DrBleep for giving this a read before we posted. Similarly, this also couldn't have been done without y'all's help.

Thirdly… thirdly… oh right, the numbers. It ain't gonna win so here are the numbers:

Ralliston and Trotskyeet made this piece an absolute joy to write. Joining one of these contests was a huge achievement for me, and I would have never been able to produce something I was proud of without the help of these beautiful people.

I really enjoyed reading this. I was gripped all the way through.

One thing I didn't quite get was why eliminating references, memories and knowledge of the affected areas were so essential to containment.

Some nits that were very very minor distractions:

+ show block

The sole access to SCP-6000 is to be placed under constant surveillance and armed guard.

This sentence reads a bit awkwardly is there a missing word after "access"? Or maybe you don't need "the sole".

the growth speed of organic material is greatly increased

I think it should be "rate" rather than "speed" perhaps because speed usually relates to distance.

erase references and mentions to the city of Częstochowa

Should be "mentions of". If you say "references" then "mentions" isn't really needed.

It is believed more than 79%

If it's an estimate then why so precise?

It is believed that this is responsible for the loss of 98.9%

Same issue with such precision around a belief

Read you all loud and clear.

More appropriate to say "read you both"? There are only two other people …

How was the Addendum 1 camera feed acquired?

All individuals entering SCP-6000 without proper cognitive safety gear to be considered lost

Missing "are" or other verb after "gear"?

I think better if you leave out "to occur".

Apologies if this comes up twice- I thought I posted it but it disappeared!

I really enjoyed this article. It gripped me throughout. I particularly liked the voting sequence.

One thing I didn't quite get was why it was such an essential containment measure to eradicate memories/knowledge of the affected areas.

Also how was the camera feed acquired for Addendum 1? There was no radio contact and all expeditions into the area were halted.

The first time poland gets destroyed in a 6kon article… but not the last. It was a great read and it stuck with me for about 3 days after reading it. I kept turning the implications of the piece around in my head and wondering how it will be used after the contest is over. Good job yall! +1

there's a person i follow named lynx vilden. she is sometimes described as a survivalist but dislikes that term. she encourages people to live with/ in nature, rather than simply 'survive' it to get back to civilization, with just stone aged tools, which she teaches people to make themselves. she has described being alone in wild nature and hearing, not just the song of nature, but the actual earth itself humming/ singing to her. i generally consider myself a skeptic but also believe nothing is impossible, and that maybe people who spend a lot of time in nature are attuned to things we aren't.

so your entry may not be that far from the truth. which is cool to think about.

This is the first SCP-6000 entry I am reading, and I have to say that I don't know how the others could be better than this. It tells a huge story, with the situation slowly becoming more and more desprate. I found that part at the end, with the total votes in the 0-5 Council motions decreasing, to be especially depressing. In a good way, though. It really added feeling to the story. I really hope this gets a higher place on the 6000 rating list soon. I don't care that I'm making this judgement before I've read the others, there can't possibly be many, if any, better than this.

+1, I wish I could do more.

(edit: I was right, this was the best 6000 entry)

This was a very well written article that started out with: "Really? That's it? It's kinda cool but OK" And ended with a: "Dear god it should be destroyed but it shouldn't. Is this truly an anomaly?" While the whole "Humanity is a virus" thing feels a bit on the nose and overused, I'm happy to say that the worldbuilding around this idea makes it superior to other "Humanity must die" scenarios I've seen. I also like how the past X000 entries were referenced throughout the article. One minor nitpick: It seems unbelievable in the context of the skip that the last remaining O5 could pull of a reset of that scale. But the haunting repetition at the very end makes it a +1 from me.

Absolutely in love with this article; best 6K entry by far. +1

I always enjoy the SCP trope of apocalypse/XK scenarios detailed over time and this doesn't fail to deliver on that.
