This piece was written on the land of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho people, who have persisted here in central Wyoming from before recorded history to the present day. The Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho are the traditional owners of this land.
This piece describes the land of the Klamath tribes: the Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin people. These peoples have likewise persisted in northern California, and continue to live there today. The Klamath National Forest exists upon the land of the Klamath tribes.
I acknowledge the lands of these peoples, and those of all indigenous peoples, as sacred and significant. Their sovereignty was never ceded.

This is my first SCP article for the site! It's thrilling to see it so well-received—I've followed the project since 2012 and always wanted to try contributing. I'm especially grateful to those who've shared that this piece helped them feel seen or reflect on injustice; it means the world to me to think my work could do that for anyone. Thank you.
Thanks to my friend fabledtiefling does not match any existing user name for giving this article a read and offering valuable feedback! Fable was my only critter for this piece.
Thanks to stormbreath and taylor_itkin does not match any existing user name for their generosity and trust in helping me navigate my own stupid misunderstanding of voting guidelines—and double thanks to storm for helping me fix weird textual errors in the piece which I couldn't even see on my end.
Finally, thanks to the many established writers here who have made me feel so welcomed as a new author ever since this piece went up. J Dune

djkaktus and many others have gone out of their way to be kind to me. I appreciate it, and I'm humbled to be accepted among so many talented people.
God I'm so happy to finally see this posted. Best of luck to ya man, I still really really love this entry and hope it does well!
6002 LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Life always finds a way.
I really enjoyed this one, as someone who is fascinated by zoology and taxonomy. Tree of Life; brilliant idea for an SCP!
Amazing. We need more Indigenous American stories on site, and the anomaly here is wonderfully interesting, scary, and socially relevant. Profoundly my jam.
EDIT: The character work in the addendums is *chef’s kiss.*
Thank you!
Welp. Other than our own 6k entry, I'm gunning for this one to win out of all others. I actually had tears in my eyes by the end; it seems that every x000 contest has at least one example of a new user creating an outstanding entry as their first article. Bravo.
(And also I am going to use the aeternae in something, even if it's just a justification for various anomalous species that exist within my own canon.)
I was also crying. What a great first article. I cannot wait for the aeternae to be a thing. Yes yes yes yes yes.
Same here: I have a big SCP project planned that involves alternate universes, and if I do manage to write it, I'll definitely put in a few worlds where the aeternae survive. It only seems right.
omg it would be a true honor for you to use anything I came up with here LOL I love your work. Thank you!
My favorite 6k entry so far. I hope this one will win. Very beautiful, sad and with a theme disturbingly close to reality +1
This is fantastically melancholy, has really effective pacing (I tend to get bored with technical or scientific articles, but this held my attention throughout) and gets at powerful real-world themes without feeling at all preachy, which is definitely a risk when writing about environmental issues. From one first-time author to another, bravo…this is definitely better than my contest entry. +1
The science felt believable, the fantastic characterization of and commentary from Dr Wildcat, the Aeternae are an interesting idea, this is absolutely amazing, especially as a first SCP.
Nice. While there’s some tonal issues, this was imaginative and I heavily enjoyed the scope of this article. I do wish you covered more Aeternae though, the ones you talked about were creative and fun.
Thank you! I really enjoyed your 6000 entry! Haunting af.
The only reason I did not cry was because I had already cried over another story today.
As I am going to read allt he entries in posting order, this is the first one and, oh boy did you just set that bat so so high already.
Kudoes and amazing job for your first entry.
A perfect combination of North American native culture, ecologistic reflection and the Foundation-style fiction story.
Very well done, this one is my favorite 6kon entry till now. +1
