Firstly: the initial "anomaly" that is that gal. It's so vague, even in the results the researcher point to. Like, I guess I can understand the idea that a statistical anomaly would be detected by the Foundation, and that, by analyzing who or what is in those areas, when, etc, can sus out who or what might be responsible, but it's not like everything goes BANG more modern, so that seems… difficult to infer that the gal would be responsible.
As a consequence of that, my first assumption was that the researcher had some beef with the girl, and that the "anomaly" was just an excuse.
But then, that doesn't seem to be the case, from the rest of it? Or if there is I'm missing it. And if that's NOT the case, then that's shoddy work from that researcher.
And like, sure, shoddy work from a Researcher is alright, in writing this, I guess, and it's aa9 I Zadarressed, that's the whole reason Weld shows up on the scene.
What I'm not really getting here is the ending, I guess. The pacemaker, what evidence is there that its the cause of an anomaly? Was it just removed as a "better safe than sorry" sort of thing? It seems to be a sort of spiteful response to the minimal barriers in place by the Department, but is it both that and also correct? Idk it seems weird to me. As does the joining at the end.
