What if I wrote a Parawatch? How about you comment on it.
Mans threw my expectations out the window and actually stomped on it +1
Actually creeped me out. Silly enough though this may be, I almost felt like something was scripted into the wikidot coding to jumpscare me after a bit.
…It's 4am on my side and I'm mentally gutted, btw.

Cute doggos.

Started with a chuckle thinking it was just a funny and ended up surprisingly pleased at the creepy factor here!
Good stuff, Harry!

Hooray for things working out as intended! Thank you kindly.
At first I thought it was gonna be spicy, then it turned into a joke but as I kept scrolling I understood the sort of dark roots of this post. Great as always harry!

[Disregard, sorry]
Clever, clever. The shift of the goalpost is done well here, turning quite an innocent scene of a newbie trying to get along with everyone into a legitimately terrifying situation in which readers get to see the antagonist mysteriously influencing everyone. +1
Excellent, thanks for the affirmation. Glad you liked it :)
This is very clever and quite unnerving situation. I love it. +1
Fox 🦊
The subtle terror here is amazing. Please do more horror.
And I live by that.
I accept your bribe of compliments and will oblige.
The shift in tone came quite abruptly to me, and it didn't seem to have the same effect in me as it did with everyone else.
This sort of "haunted thread" concept is quite common, and nothing new seemed to come out of it to me. I'm a huge Parawatch fan, and I was really expecting something more. The fact the moderator didn't do anything to an account clearly breaking the rules doesn't make much sense. Maybe if all of the accounts jumped on "haunting" him, including the moderator, it would've been much more unnerving? The way it is right now it just feels like two trolls doing an act, except at the end you make it seem it was all real, so that sort of ruins that feeling to me. If everyone started doing it, it would be a bit more believable since it could be associated with an anomaly.
Also, how did they know about skips? I thought Parawatch wasn't aware of the Foundation at all, and that was the whole point of it! It's people that don't know the anomalous is known, and they share information that the Foundation tracks without them ever finding out.
This can definitely be improved, but as it stands, it's a -1 from me.
I only commented the suggestion because, quite often, people complain to me that I offer critic but no solution. I agree it might not be the best thing to do, but I still added plenty of critique that could possibly help you see your article in a different way and keep improving on your writing.
Good luck on all your future writing endeavors!
My response did what you've been accused of, so I ought to respond better lol teach me to reply when I just woke up.
The moderator not fixing the problem makes perfect sense. When reifire_rose says "What if," that thing happens. When he says "How about," the person he's talking to takes it as an irrefusable instruction. This is consistent throughout the thread. He chases everyone but his target out of the conversation using these abilities. That's the anomaly. I don't think it needs to be made more clear.
References to the "skippers" turn up in several Parawatch pieces as a thing they know vaguely about and have an urban legend-like distrust of. Furthermore there is no consistent "lore" behind Parawatch and what they know/don't know, as that would get in the way of the out-of-universe goal of reformulating creepypastas into something that work in an interesting way on the site.
I do appreciate your taking the time to read, and to explain your opinions!
Ah, you're right, I didn't get the "how about" implications, only the "what if" ones, that's on me. Sorry about that!
I'm still not a fan of Parawatch knowing about SCP (even if just vaguely), because the Foundation is supposed to be a secret, and even rumors like this are very prejudicial. I understand that there is no canon, but the very hub of Parawatch says that:
Although Parawatch is heavily invested in its investigation of the anomalous, continuous monitoring has found that the group lacks a comprehensive understanding of:
- The Foundation's existence.
- The Veil.
Thanks for explaining your points though, I understand your article better now.
TBF, knowing that there is some sort of group called "SCP" that likes to hide anomalous stuff is a bit far from "comprehensive".
