Wow. Interesting take on the format, as if he's reading the report on a computer. Loved the twist and the end.
Thumbs up.

So what exactly is going on here? I have the feeling that a class D is somehow causing a termination event to kill himself and all other class D's in order to "Free" himself from the Foundation?
Or is it something more sinister being caused by SCP-176?
This appears to refer to a version of 176 that has been replaced. Was it a contest entry?
This was an SCP, back before the format was as set in stone as it is now.

Apparently, this is the first use of the class Keter, and also the first document to mention D-Class in the history of SCP. It was originally posted on /x/.
The author claims that it is. He also expressed slight disappointment that such a big part of the site's history was allocated to such an obscure part of the Wiki. I remember that, back on /x/, there was also an old document by the same guy about Thaumiel class SCPs, which were originally supposed to be counter-keters - the way in which keters had been prevented from causing an end of the world class scenario. I recall it specifically referencing an inkwell which is constantly creating ink, being contained by a sheet of paper which absorbs said ink and is writing a very long and morbid story. I fear it may have been lost to the mists of time, though.
If it's the first ever, why don't we at the very least link it in the Tales section?
(And while I'm content with Safe/Euclid/Keter, if we were to have another class, Thaumiel has the right sound to it.)
At this point I'd tag it as a story - don't know if you want to redact or add digits to the invalid SCPs.
Should there be a "Archive" tag? (discussion only, do not add anyone!)
I like to think that, with all the terminations and redactions that the foundation probably imposes on SCPs, it's likely that this 176 is simply a redundant classification. It's implied that the site is undergoing a containment failure during the course of the article, and the SCP was probably destroyed during site reclamation or detonation on on-site warheads.
From an out-of-character perspective, though, I just don't like the idea of messing with old articles for trivial reasons. Nobody wants to edit Dr. Clef's Proposal for SCP 001 just because it now suggests that surgeon crabs are an integral part of apocalypse. In fact, that's pretty awesome.
I like it. It shows an early perspective of the development of the Foundation from a writer's viewpoint, as well as highlighting a constant moral battle faced by researchers in-universe daily. +1
I just now found this and I have an urge to PM one of the popular SCP authors (moose, yoric, salman, and many others) and tell them to make something that can justifiably be called "Thaumiel class".
A pretty good story, and not only that, it contains a bunch of site history with it to boot.
