Seeking Greenlights: Yes
Page Type: Tale
Genre (Optional): Emotional
Elevator Pitch: An emotional roller-coaster of a story that follows a man who finally gets the help he needs after buying a watch from a sketchy pawn shop.
Central Narrative: John, a Foundation researcher, has a miserable life. His marriage is dying, work is very stressful. He buys a watch from a sketchy pawn shop (perhaps connected to MC&D?) and discovers that it can stop time. However, the watch will only stop time when he is emotionally distressed. When time is stopped, the watch itself will attempt to guide John to a solution to his emotional distress. The watch creates an infinitely stretching path for John to walk on while he gets helped. The watch never gives direct answers, it only poses questions. The watch seems to be working, however the Foundation is detecting the temporal disturbance made by the watch and is getting suspicious. John isolates himself with the watch, and the act of stopping time is taking a toll on him. He experiences mental "lag" after stopping time a lot. The lag gets worse and worse as he uses the watch more and more. The Foundation begins to narrow the cause of the temporal disturbances down John. Eventually, the watch itself poses the question "When are you going to take your own time and stop?" This helps John realize that he needs to learn to deal with his problems by himself, by taking the time he has and just stopping to breathe. He stops using the watch. He manages to stop lagging and hands the watch in to the Foundation, explaining the temporal disturbances. With his new understanding of how to take on the world, he slowly fixes his life bit by bit.
Hook/Attention-Grabber: This is a heart-wrenching and emotional story (hopefully!)

I have changed some things from the original concept, but I think it's stayed close to the original concept.
