At first, I had my reservations about this skip; I thoroughly enjoyed the crosslinked Eye Witness, which left me with a real longing to further explore this universe that you're crafting. I was worried that this skip would be a retreading of those initial themes where Binary Star was carefully explored and brought about as a character.
However, I actually think that you succeeded on developing their backstory. The nature of O5-8's relationship with Binary Star, even though its communicated in such a limited format, comes across wonderfully.
