Beautiful SCiP! Really nice how you expanded on the relationship between the Deering brothers here, I can only hope they get reunited someday. This got me proper emotional. Only thing missing is Doug, I can't get enough of that creepy reflective bastard.

I've been reading through basically everything in the On Guard 43 hub in the past few days and this one really struck me because I hadn't realized until I read it that Phil wasn't allowed to be aware of his brother's death. Which is a bit of a "well, naturally" moment but also so, so sad. Still, love to read about the Deering brothers.

Poor Phillip.

And also poor Dougall, obviously. This is a really nice little thing that characterizes the second brother really well, and I feel like this side of the Deering relationship has been a bit underdeveloped before it, so it's really cool to see the real Doug given some more attention. Neat as hell.
