I like ducks yay
Pages 1 and 2 of D-Island, a story I've been working on for about a year now and have finally gotten it down into art. I plan to continue updating weekly, sorry for the lack of any proper formatting but I hope you all are excited for what's next.
Feel free to ask anything about the comic, and if staff are reading let me know if there's anything else I can do to make this idea work with you all smoothly.
Let's call this my long-overdue love letter to the SCP wiki and the inspirations its given me for my art and my writing. Thanks you guys, you guys rule.
4/2/21: Medical issues making me miss the first update (such is my luck) and I will posting page 3 sometime this weekend.4/6/21: ON FRIDAY and Page 4 will be the next week. sorry for the
mess4/9/2021: text is bugging out so its tomorrow
Could I recommend making one slight change with your formatting?
width=1300px|
The Wiki's page-content has a width of ~700px or so, so inputting anything larger than that won't have any real changes. It actually hinders the presentation of your art — makes it blurry, hard to read, and hurts accessibility, because people will have to navigate to a new page just to see it properly.
I recommend changing that field to this:
width=100%|
Additionally, I have no idea which dialogue box corresponds to which character. I also think that, as an introductory piece, this is too thinly plotted to leave any lasting effect on me. I'm sure in the next entry there will be more that fleshes this out, but for now, I don't know what to take away from this.
The art style is interesting, though. I'm a fan of aliased art.
Thanks for the advice, a bit of hold over from trying to get it to look decent in the first place with the coding, I'll take your advice!
Also the boxes are color coded, so you can assume who's who, but the intent is for it to be somewhat unclear. If it feels like it lacks plot its mostly setting the tone of being thrust into chaos with little understanding. I hope you continue to read, as the next page will be more informative.
Page 3 has been posted! Thank you for your patience, lots of real life got in the way including some serious muscle pains. I'm back on track and hopefully will be putting out updates weekly.
Let me know what you think/any comments or critiques welcomed!
4/16/21 another delay due to medical issues. next page this weekend
Thanks for your patience. A lot of life events made getting this page out on time extremely difficult, and it may be rather inconsistant going forward. I'll try to keep it weekly, but follow this twitter for any future updates on the comic.
Let me know what you all think!
