This is essentially a sequel to SCP-5382, which is appropriate, because both articles blocked me hard for a very long time. I've been banging away at this one for simply ages, but I'm happy with it.
It is very Canadian. I do not apologize. Which, they say, is also very Canadian! They are wrong to say this.
I've been writing this since, I dunno, last October or something? It was not inspired by the recent American election. It was not inspired by recent crises on this website. It was not inspired by 5004, or the one 5004 is a sequel to, or SCP-5859 (which is nevertheless excellent), or SCP-5813 (which is nevertheless also excellent), although Dune did whip that last one up while I was finishing mine and I was briefly terrified that he'd scooped me. (He hadn't.) The fact that he wanted to reference Thilo was both flattering and hilarious, considering what's in this piece.
There's no metaphor here. Sometimes a Joe is just a Joe.
Thanks to my critters: Grigori Karpin and

And to whoever ends up with that licensing nightmare. Oh, boy, am I sorry about that. At least I waited a few months this time?
