Both have been edited by me to have that old WWII timey feel to it.
To be honest, this idea was passed through and conveyed in different formats, almost all of which didn't quite feel right, for some reason. The general idea was that the withdrawal of the dream serum caused their dreams to abruptly stop, causing anyone within these dreams to experience a huge "conceptual whiplash", forcing them out into reality from the subjects' heads. Sometime later, environmental pressure forces them to undergo some form of mutation to convert them into murder monsters that now rampage the country.
I think this might not also be the optimal choice as well, given that, well, a critter brought up a very valid point about the potential "cliche"-esque nature of ending it off with the usual "experiment gone bad" approach, which I definitely agree — though a part of me still wondered if the atmosphere might be able to compensate for it, which I doubt, but nonetheless have a glimmer of hope.
Immense gratitude to Nanigashi Sato for the revised IJAMEA theme.
