This essay was a truly massive undertaking that took over a week to write and nearly half a decade to research. This essay would have been impossible to write without the major contributions of others; I truly had to stand on the shoulders of giants to write this thing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank:
- u/Buncible on Reddit for creating this spreadsheet tracking every instance of "scp-" across the /x/ and /b/ archive.
- u/retsech of Reddit for extracting every single /b/ post with the phrase "scp-" and publicly hosting them so others could view them.
