I'm secretly a sucker for the GOC and want ORIA to be cooler and the Foundation to be more grounded in real-world history, so I wrote an article that tried to do all of those things. I think it worked! I can't really remember who critted this but big thank you if you did. Obviously this article is inspired heavily by the Goiana Incident — I've always thought of reality-bending as a naturally good metaphor for nuclear power, so this was the natural conclusion of that thought process; I had also recently read an article on the Incident and the way it was written kind of shocked me, because it was in a very detached, very methodical fashion that elevated the horrible dread unfolding. I tried to emulate that tone with this piece. Again, I think it worked. Thank you for reading!
