I am wondering something: Would the research team ever consider that it might not be a matter of 'observers' but of 'potentially reachable victims'? A rat off to the side is relatively quite close, as it takes far less carpet to engulf. Whereas a person pretty much has to be in the center. Would / could we test that?
Holy cow someone commented on mine! Sorry I didn't reply until now!
Could be tested! I included that to, well, suggest that it had some amount of intelligence, and to make it harder to detect if a given carpet was, in fact, a host to the organism. Because if it 'acted' when another could see it happening, the victim would be freed and the carpet likely destroyed….
I wonder… if we were to attach a person to the wall of the chamber in a position to see the carpet doing its thing and put something on the center of the carpet, would it act in the same way? What would happen if the thing placed on the carpet was dead? Or what if it had no blood at all, at least not red blood? I'm interested in what would happen if you introduced it to other SCPs, too.
Overall, it's really great and I do not want to find myself walking across the carpet only to find that it's possessed by something that will kill me in a horrible horrible fashion.
Not bad. Got some tone/wording issues, but it's a solid idea and a fair presentation.

The idea doesn't interest me, and the test log doesn't add anything. Plus, there's some lolfoundation that I really don't care for.

I like it but have two strong suggstions.
First, remove the italisized notes…they are good, but the reader will already be thinking them, so they are clunky and not needed.
Also, since this is a living thing, it presumably needs to be fed. Include that in the conatinment. Also, since it can spread to other carpets, it should be auclid, not safe.
RE: SCP-682
No, we cannot just "roll him up in a carpet and throw him off a bridge". The next employee to suggest this will find themselves being fed to SCP-522, so think carefully about making comments like this.
xD
Huh, interesting idea. Though im curious as well if it would react to a dead body as well, as it seems rugs often tend to end up with dead bodies rolled up in them anyway.
+1
Experiment 10: There's a tone dropout here. "It seems to be getting faster." would read better as "This is less than in previous tests."
In a good mood this morning, so I won't be downvoting. I rather like the concept anyway.
But what I don't like is the serious and gratuitous lolFoundation experimental notes. Most of the other tonal greivances aside, listening to a Researcher lament that the only reason he regrets not using animals earlier is how much easier it would have been to dispose of the bodies… That's bad science. You try this kind of stuff out on animals first!
No vote. I hereby poke Felgraf (if he's still active) and encourage him to consider revision.
The experiment log I find ok, though the tone comes across as unofficial.
Note from Dr. ███████:
You mean we could have been using animals all along? Damnit. Disposing of the remains would have been much easier if I’d known that earlier!
Is completely ridiculous and very LOLFoundation. While I do love some good LOLFoundation jokes, it does distract from the article here and breaks all seriousness that might have been for a carpet fungus that eats things.
Plus there's the fact that it makes it blatantly obvious that it was written by someone after they'd established everything that goes in the main article. If it were done properly, most things in the experiment log would happen BEFORE the main report gets written; in this case, animal testing would have been one of the first things they did.

OK, a couple things:
This is basically a "trapper" from AD & D. I'm considering if it has enough added to it to be acceptable here.
The tone and lolFoundation are horrible. Down voting for that alone.
Wow, I upvoted this once? Just shows I had no standards when I was new…

This is up for review. Come give it a look, eh?
This one just has not aged well. Well, first, here's what I like:
- Fungus angle is kind of cool
- I like the name
Here's what I don't like:
- Horrid tone
- Extremely trite in how it tells the effect, it couldn't be more straightforward if it tried.
- lolFoundation
- Test log is badly written and doesn't know how to pace itself.
- This sentence: "Furthermore, the red coloring of the carpet is simply just that: the color of the carpet, having nothing to do with the organism or the task it performs. Theoretically, SCP-522 could live in a carpet of any color, undetected to the naked eye." which is completely pointless.
- This is basically like that far side comic where the carpet ate people.
I don't know if there's much potential in "a carpet what eats people" but I hope someone finds something salvageable in here to write a cool article about.
