Elevator Pitch: Autophobia is the fear of being alone, and the kind of problems that can entail. There’s a few SCP’s that deal with loneliness, but this one may be different in how it deals with that.
Central Narrative:The SCP is a species of large, land based Isopods, measuring 2.5 feet long. They’re sapient, and every one has a similar personality based around the fear of being left alone. For some reason having other instances of the SCP, doesn’t seem to actually comfort or assuage the others fears, mostly because of their shared personalities. The more anomalous part comes with its relationship to humans: The species will latch on to a human back, and with a series of protrusions, attach itself to the spine of the person. The shell of the creature is in itself a spacial anomaly, because when viewed from behind or above the shell both keeps the creature invisible, and basically hidden in a small pocket dimension, so people can place shirts over them, or even touch them without knowing. The creatures then cause their host to be subject to Autophobia, which will then cause them to be closer to other humans, at which point the SCP will multiply, infecting other humans with another instance of the SCP. The main narrative comes in experiment and interview logs with instances of the SCP, who comes across as sympathetic. Despite seeming gross and weird, really they are just creatures afraid of being alone. Of course the Foundation doesn’t exactly have the time to care.
Hook/Attention-Grabber: It's just supposed to be a disturbingly human SCP, while also being a real gross parasite that's pretty alien to normal life
