I found a lot of the punchlines in this article fell flat. I did admittedly get some amusement out of this:
O5-1: Look, Two has a good point. Security is a bit lax. We don't need to constantly post Bright and SCP-173 memes to Reddit.
O5-8: But-
O5-1: I know, Eight. The peanut is funny.
But only because I recognize it — it's a massively common ironic community in-joke, and we bash it into the ground every single day on IRC and Discord. Come to think of it, most of the jokes here are in-jokes stated plainly, and then passed by just as plainly.
I'm not at all against seeing those types of in-jokes in articles; lampshading and showing self-awareness go a long way, and you certainly try both here. But I think you're still playing it too safe. A good chunk of your audience is already going to be inoculated against these jokes. To avoid speaking for others, and more for myself: I appreciate comedy when something new, something surprising or clever, something I've never considered before, is brought to the table and tested. Those things resonate with me. And I'm not getting them here. I recognize this is subjective, but remember, this is a Joke 001 Proposal. You've been granted express permission to go all out. Bring out the big guns, travel to places unseen.
