Always been a fan of these kind of SCP.
I'd change the bit about how every one of them represent a threat to humanity, the universe, etc. as that's clearly not true.
ah the http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/classifications flying deer test if it isn't a threat to human life, sanity or the universe, why does SCP contain it?
I've changed it to say that many rather than all the objects are of this nature, but it's true we do keep objects that just threaten normalcy… hey that might be the answer…
I don't think the threat diamond or the navigation bar really help this SCP, and I say that as the person who implemented the darn things.
I vote we just keep this entry synchronized with the TVTropes page, save that if they put up a screenshot of our entry in theirs, we should put up a screenshot of their entry in ours.
Also, if this disinformation campaign is codenamed "Operation Trident Valley," then we need to come up with a snazzy code name for the Gaia Online one as well.
True. in this joke scp, we're not exactly containing anything inside the scp, we're actually publishing the partial archive. so the threat diamond doesn't apply.
I agree we should just synch the entries as best we can whenever we feel like it.
For Gaia Online… how about Operation Golden Origin?
I like "Operation Golden Origin." It just sounds neat.
They line up nicely. It seems that Trident Valley and Golden Origin have the exact same number of letters. Freakish coincidence. Or is it?
Hmm should we create a wikipedia disinformation campaign.
Call it "Operation Wildcat Python".
Or maybe "Operation Wicked Python" - it has the right number of letters and it references the SCP-1006 entry's comparison of Wikipedia "to temptation of sin by Satan".
Of course, if we tried to add a page to Wikipedia, those spoilsports would probably delete it for "lack of notability" or something.
As an admin there, I would do it personally for autopromotion :p
Rewrote the article to keep it in universe. Remember that the wiki is not an SCP, but the TVTropes page may be.
Fair enough. I guess that means the two pages can't be kept in synch.
Maybe, maybe not. I just redid the TVTropes page it to keep everything the same, save that it has a long Addendum 2: part for all the TVTropes stuff that this page doesn't have.
(my two cents) Thank you. I have to admit I was a little put off when I heard you doing that, it seemed very controlling- first of all because someone from this site rewrote the page, or reversed the order and then secondly now that the article represents us on a very popular site for one person to change that without having a discussion.
Very overeager, in my opinion. We don't have to jump on the mention or create some kind of, in my opinion, lame connection or reference in the form of a joke SCP. If it is to be done, it should be written up like a data breach file or groups of interest report. (the new revision is a good example of how it should be done) Nothing has to be put up now however. Lets just give it some time. Maybe eventually we can all agree on some cool fun protocol,(or do nothing, but if has to be one or the other, we can't just have random people doing whatever) were we write the site up and then visit, register accounts, and pretend to be agents, telling them to delete it immediately, or spam it with threatening phrases like, "this information is confidential, all posters names and addresses have been taken down" and "delete immediately" and then bombard them with creepy meme pictures. Where anyone who has duel accounts anywhere would be put on a double agent list/ a list of the names of suspected leaks. Maybe even where to get on the forums requires a password, so everything looks real. That would be original. That would have some mystique and get people talking.
We're no where near that popular though. I mean right now half the people writing the tv tropes page have accounts here, and then to link them up, to "synchronize" them..gah…let some other non biased troppers have at it first.
Once again, Name, you took three paragraphs to say something that can be said in one sentence: "This is not TVTropes, and it's okay if the sites are different."
Now I remember why i like Clef. He keeps it simple.
Admin, SCP Wiki
*sigh* Either it took me three paragraphs to say one sentence, or it took you one second to read three paragraphs. I'm leaning towards the later. Man you sure miss a lot when you skim read.

If i remember correctly, you were against the whole idea, but there were some people who were kind of excited and it was something i wanted to bring up, and decided i might as well do it here.
I vaguely remember putting that there.
I may have dreamed it or something, though. My memory sucks.
Fun fact: The TVTropes page's picture of our logo is labeled “SPClogo_9925.jpg”
I might love this so much because I'm ridiculously addicted to TVTropes (current tab count: 78), but this really is genuinely clever. I'm sort of late to the party, but a hearty "awesome job, good sir" to whoever came up with this idea. The corresponding TVTropes article is really well done, and is actually such a good introduction to the site that I've just taken to linking people there when I try to tell them about it.
