Based on a true story.

The image and composition were created by my, but the base texture for the planet was not. The source can be found here. It is released under the Attribution 4.0 Inrernational License, which can be found at the bottom of the page.

I need to favorite you as an author. Anyway, this gives context to the Hateful Star, pre-June 2018. There is a thin line….

The fact that the other stopped moving instead of returning, and stopped communicating instead of accepting, is a very bad sign. Since the star didn't commit suicide, what is the star planning to do? Or are its decisions in universal time, not our time, in spite of the quickness of the messages?

Also, what could the solar system be planning to do? The fact Saturn is mentioned — not as a throwaway but as an important plot point — means the Foundation is completely out of its depth on this one. The Foundation is fruit flies trying to understand the orchard it was birthed into.

Ah, the Loveful Star!

(though in that case, I wonder why it is safe, considering that it is both 1) uncontainable 2) highly destructive when it does reach here

P.S.: Actually once found a Loveful Star idea before. But it was a fanwork reimagining of the former Hateful Star on Deviantart, so I doubt you have seen it. And the content is different anyway.

This doesn't land for me. The colossal scale of the threat is contradicted so jarringly by the writing's lack of tension, brevity, and slightly insipid metaphor.

I agree. This also may just be my opinion, but romance in SCP articles is difficult to achieve and seldomly works well.

I like it. It is a short and sweet SCP that is interesting enough for me to upvote. However, this is definitely an Apollyon class SCP instead of Safe.

Well, they changed it to Keter, which is not exactly Apollyon.

BUt I think that it is because the Hateful Star, which I compared it with, is Keter.

I spoke to the author about it who is a friend of mine and he decided not to go with Apollyon since many community members reject that classification. Keter is definitely better than safe though :p

so..the moon gave me an idea for an addendum. could be some observation of nearby planets to scp-5979 going through an "odd" process. food for thought

also i dont see the point of making it german specifically, seems shoehorned to keep the narrative (and not fitting it)

I loved this a lot, it was an interesting read, and the love story attached to it was good as well.

An honest +1 from me, this definitely has tale potential which I may or may not look into ;)
