Craptivism

For CorpseCon, I decided that I wanted to write something about Jewish ideals and power imbalances and what it means to be in control of your own life. It’s also about a guy who shits other people’s pants, but that’s not as pithy a summary.

Thanks to all of my critters for making this less of an absolute mess than it originally was! That includes (but is probably not limited to) Calibri Bold, chiifu, cybersqyd, Doctor Fullham¹, and Yossipossi. Critique is an important and thankless job, and all critters (ESPECIALLY those on the Butterfly Squad) should be given 6-figure salaries and luxurious offices. I have no ulterior motive here.

Sonderance thank you for turning my conprocs into an article about threatening to piss someone else's pants.

In all seriousness you did a fantastic job with this and I'm extremely happy with how you turned my silly conprocs into an even sillier article that addresses actual issues.

This is by no means what I expected to come out of this contest. Regardless, this one gave me a pretty good chuckle, and as a sanitation worker I feel that I can somewhat relate to the story.

Either way, it's a +1 from me.

A SCP with a silly premise that ends up being an examination of structure, of power. Real anarchist ideals, if you ask me (especially the end, which is just evocative of cover-ups and COINTELPRO)

Can't help but wonder if it had been sparked by recent events (a certain blonde person sounds like a very certain target of this activist anyway)

Also, this SCP has introduced to me some new Jewish terms

This is very well done.

One of the attributes of this article that I particularly appreciate is that although Judaism is central to the character, it's not central to the anomaly. That's part of what distinguishes this from the X-men-type humanoid SCP articles that are sometimes attempted.

Absolutely phenomenal. The biggest gut punch for me came from the footnotes— Dr. Nehorai is still working for the Foundation 3 years after this? His final message to the site director gave me some hope that he wouldn't just accept this injustice lying down. Turns out, though, that accepting this injustice lying down was exactly what he did. Daniel was right— excuse my language— fuck this rodef!

Also, minor nitpick, shouldn't it be Alan Smithee?

Ay, I'm glad someone caught that! Unfortunately, it's very easy for injustice to fade into the background both for individuals and nations.

And yes, it should be Alan Smithee! But alas, I am quite the silly billy and didn't check my work. I'll either change it after CorpseCon or forget about it completely.

One of my favorites. Maybe it’s just because I’m a Jew with a terrible sense of humor who lives just outside of Newark but I like the premise and ideas too.

A very creative well-thought out SCP. It not only takes into account to horrors of the Foundation itself, but also throws in a few chuckles while at it.
