This leaves me with just the right number of questions.
Deeply unsettling, as always - we often describe someone or something as having a method to their madness. We rarely see how that method is developed, and it's just as unpleasant as one might think, it seems. I am acutely reminded of SCP-5101 though it's something of an inversion - salvador is much warmer in his mannerisms than Attendant JL, and the mental damage suffered here is more like being pulled apart than being crushed. In any case, excellent work. +1
So, from what I can tell….
- The writer of the scientist was forced to do a job for the Chaos Insurgency
- The Chaos Insurgency (represented by The Black Envelope) had his daughter
- The Seeing Eye was some device that they could use to kill his daughter should he not do this job
- This job involved stealing a deadly SCP (the Sun) that is related to the sun
- The writer failed, the result of this failure was worse than imagined: part of reality blown up. Daughter killed in process.
- Now he is writing a SCP for that part of reality that has been blown up by his actions, more specifically, the emotions of the action.
You're probably right about most of this but there's one thing you didn't mention. Seeing eye. See eye… CI.
Ahh…..
but I did mention the Chaos Insurgency.
Though I definitely did not notice the linguistic trick you pointed out (or is 'semantics' more accurate?)
Also…
just realized
Black envelope
envelope = mail
Blackmail…
My interpretation is a bit different.
-The writer was forced to do a job for the Chaos Insurgency
-The Chaos Insurgency (Represented by the Seeing Eye) could kill his daughter if he didn't give them enough intel (the black envelope).
- The Sun represents his feelings of joy or purpose in life, which is why the sun was extinguished when his daughter died.
- With his daughter dead, he came clean to the Foundation, and they sent him here, to have his cognition restructured to satiate SCP-5145, which is unrelated to his history. But his new brain won't fill 5145 forever, eventually he'll be torn apart, and some other mole will have to come take his place.
