Well, here we go. Six months ago, I had an idea about discord and goddesses. Today, finally got around to wrapping it up. Photo is from here.

This was a really fun read, and I loved the mythological tie-in. I do think that the ending was a bit sudden, but that's less of an issue and more of a preference. The log felt realistic, almost like an actual interview transcript, and the characterization was very well done.

Also, I just had to make this after the GOC was tied into the anomaly.

I liked this a lot more than I expected to. Eris’ spiteful homicidal nature makes her a much more vibrant character than the opening suggests.

Thank you! Eris/Discordia's characterization was something I did my best to get right in this draft. I wanted someone who could beat the Foundation not because they were a better chessmaster, but because they were entirely willing to throw over the table and hit you with the board, as I believe the mataphor goes. Glad you liked it.

I liked the description better than I thought I would, but the interview felt too hammy for me. Novote.

Also I need to point out that the Foundation definitely would have the resources to end Discord. Introduce subtle memetic agents to get people to prefer other platforms, pumping millions of $ into Matrix (open source competitor), sabotage the product with security flaws that they then publicize to give bad PR, embed agents to weaken its EVE absorption, etc. You could argue Eris would cause the mass chaos it promised, but I don't feel the Foundation would sit around and let a diety control increasing a growing portion of society without a fight.

its a deity im sure the o5 council thinking it has alot of backup plans i mean one of the backup plans is holding all the discord users hostage im sure atleast they are not risking that ya know

Oh hey, I remember reading a draft for this! The transcript has definitely improved, it's much more entertaining to see Moines play some cards first instead of Eris immediately shutting her down. Easy +1.
