Shout outs to Dr_Leonard, arcad1a, Dexanote, Lex1nat0r, and Agent MacLeod for reviewing this.
Enjoy!
EDIT: I have changed the 1-800 number to 1-555 to avoid the chance of BUG BASH being an actual number.

The Bug Man!
Obtained May 5, 1991Found within the frozen hills of Russia. Well worth the battle and losses; Theo and the Torches' sacrifice will be honored by all Bug-Killers for eternity.
Someone must make a Tale with 489 and 2273. It'll be the hunt that will end all hunts.
Title: "The Most Dangerous Game"
Setting: Sometime after the events of Retired, Extremely Dangerous and the coming arc of stories.
Coming to an SCP wiki near you in 2016.
We are totally going to make this happen, Mac. Let's get to work.
noooes. I have, like, 15 stories to write in that arc. I'll get to 489 when I'm done with all the March Madness contestants.
Fiiiinnneee.
But seriously, afterwards let's make a collab Tale.
Eugh, fine, I'll add a section to my collab sandbox.
Goomy, why you do these things to me?
I fuckin' love these little guys trying to kill bugs to help their Master even in death. What wonderful flyswatters and shit. +1
I think my favorite part is that this suggests not only are there more anomalous exterminator groups out there, but that there are enough anomalous insects popping up all the time to keep them busy. I also have to wonder if the world could survive an encounter between this and SCP-831.
Edit: I keep having this recurring thought of Lord Blackwood riding on top of the van yelling "tallyho!"
So what's happening at the end? Why did they stop killing anomalous insects? Or am i reading into an implication that isn't there? Either way +1.
The skeleton in the van is the "Master" of the bug killing equipment; he was the guy that knew what he was doing and knew how to take on the big game.
The equipment on the other hand… without a leader, they're pretty incompetent at their job and so decided to/are forced to start off small.
Wow. I love how incompetent these things are; that always makes me like a skip more. This has lots of personality, and I appreciated the little bit of sadness at the end. My only suggestion is to move the sentence about how big it is up to the top of the description, because I was wondering about precisely that for almost the whole time, and I don't think it will change anything if you move it.
I like this one. I can't really describe it beyond "heatwarming and terrifying". I don't make posts often, but I read comments on this page and wanted to say something. Things go right over my head!
I share the interpretation that the skeleton in the van is the master they're talking about. So the guy died in the blaze of battle against a giant bug and the bug killers are able to kill it. After that, I thought they were just very angry at the insectoids they just decided to kill off non-anomalous insects. Talk about bloodthirsty and vengeful. Eh, I can work with them being incompetent, it's equally great for me.
and that, folks, is why I feel like a black sheep of this site - I interpret things differently than others haha
I really enjoyed this one. Uniquely weird, and tells a solid and clearly understandable story. I also love the implication of other super bug hunting teams operating in the world and working together. I just imagine them getting together a few times a year in a weird kind of big game hunter's lodge, with giant insect heads mounted on the walls discussing giant insect hunting.
