Maybe it's just me, but seeing the article start off with the Foundation treating a group of sapient humanoids like pet hamsters is… a little unsettling, and not in a way that benefits the article.
The logs give me the impression of a -J article. Silly dialogue can work in normal skips, but the actions aren't very believable to me. The MTF treating the gnomes like they're trying to catch a cat, a D-class seemingly escorting an anomaly alone (why switch to D-class midway?) and being able to go and take some sugar back into containment, seems too wacky and makes the Foundation look really incompetent.
And this is a lesser concern, but even though much of the content is focused on recovery logs, it doesn't mention why/how the Foundation got the info in the first place and deemed them a low risk despite not being aware of their nature.
I kind of enjoyed the gnomes pitting each other but other than that I feel like the article doesn't make use of the fact they're garden gnomes, they could have easily been something like geese and I don't feel like it would have changed.
