Written for my favorite canon, Broken Masquerade.
Thanks to DrEverettMann, Zyn, Dr Hysteria, and Decibelles.
Scarf and lizerd! The rest are cool and all, but Scarf and lizerd are too awesome for words.
Take all of my +1.
Dear Benny,
You are a useless disgusting flesh sack who will live a meaningless life and then die. It sickens me to even reply to you. Your very existence causes me pain.
Of course I can eat cities and breathe fire. I promise that you will live to see it.
The "lizerd",

Also +1
Surely he would sign his correspondence with his name, and not some label stuck on him by these meaningless jabbering apes like "682" or even "Summer's Exile" and certainly not "lizerd". :)
I'm pretty sure she doesn't even use names for things. She just kinda thinks in terms of whether she's killed something or not yet. Like, she only sees things as 1) not needing to be killed, 2) killed already, 3) on the queue of things to be killed.
dear lizerd
i am very excited to see you eat a city. i think that will be cool. what city will you eat? i think i want to come see.
love

I would love to continue but this seems dangerously close to roleplay, I think.
That Urdu letter is sweet based on my dodgy Google Translation, but what was behind the choice to not include an English translation in the tale itself? It adds an extra and, in my opinion, unnecessary step to see the content.
Solely aesthetics. I was trying to present this as a "found letters" thing, and a found letter wouldn't have a translation attached. I think I may add a translation in my first comment.
Okay, this was great, but the lizerd one is by far the best. And I am not saying that because that would be totally what I would have done…
Also I find the lack of Able fangirls disturbing.
I aaaaaalmost included an Able fangirl letter, but ultimately decided against it, both for in-universe and out-of-universe reasons.
In-universe, I think it would be far more likely that the Lizerd get caught on camera than Able, just by sheer virtue of their social styles and containment procedures. Able is deep, deeeeeep underground, and Lizerd is fairly easily viewed, if hard to kill.
Out-of-universe, I only wanted to include one heritage skip, and the reptile has my heart.
Oh, it's actually Broken Masquerade! I was marveling at how you slowly unfolded what was going on and kinda forgot there was a canon for that.
Wondertaintment's letter has a little too much 'much' if you ask me, unless that was intentional.
But seriously though, Benny's letters. :D
Dear Benny:
Good to see you recognize your better. Rare quality these days. If you meet the other kids that don't like me, do me a favor and shove wrenches in their eyeballs. Oh, and stay in school.
Regards,
Lizerd
I'm not sure how I feel about Broken Masquerade canon generally, but if there are more like this, sign me up!
In the new footnote, is the word I've put in square brackets a typo?
and where [are] you are you are not mistreated
Yeah, I dig the new Scarf letter you wrote up, I found the ending to this new one particularly saddening and fit the tone of the SCP-2991 article very well. The rest of this tale is top-notch too and I'm glad it all turned out great in the end. +1
