New Resurrection story is up.
This feels incomplete, like the opening prologue of an episode. I’d like the dialogue more if there were more of it or if we got to see more members of the Council of 108, but as it is it feels unfinished.
Yas, finally! More on this damn flower! I'm sure this piece was meant to be brief; To simply introduce the pecking order of the high wizard Council of 108. And their prior, and future intentions. This shouldn't and won't be the end I have a feeling it won't be. ;)
You can't really recover from retconning the inciting incident of your own canon.
If I may interrupt- I believe they're referring to Incident Zero, which I'm told involved retconning of Able killing Omega-7.
I believe what you are referring to as 'retconning' was actually a
TK-Class Broken Timeline Scenario. Able kills the Bloom, breaking the timeline into a new one. In this new one, Able is the one who kills Omega-7 (105 witnesses it, I think).
In a way, K-Class reality altering scenarios are retconning.
Although, I noticed, there may be an actual retconn (or maybe just a simple mistake). Why does Bowe call it the Bloom? In part 5, it is established that they instead have the Thorn, and it "always has been".
The story of Omega-7 is important in-universe as well as irl for the site, which makes retconning it rather unpopular(in my opinion).
Omega-7 was a symbol of the old Foundation, where AA's(Author Avatar) were widely used and skips were used for all sorts of ludicrous OTT stuff. The tipping point for the old Foundation would be Duke Till Dawn. Today's Foundation is very different, in the sense that AA's aren't so widely used anymore, and no one can simply use a SCP for whatever purpose they want.
The fact that Dr. Clef retconned the destruction of Omega-7, sends a different message, which is not well-received by some members of the community. It was meant to show that if you use SCPs for whatever purpose you want, bad things happen. Incident Zero just gave us a weird convoluted tale of resetting the universe, which defeats the purpose of the death of Omega-7
Call it whatever scenario you want. A retcon is still a retcon, regardless of whatever you dress it up in.
As for the Thorn, it was originally known as the Bloom, till Able screws it up, in Incident Zero, if I'm not mistaken.
Nice development, Things are starting to get even more fun. But I didn't really understand why this title was chosen.
I think it was chosen because the GOC got information about Alpha-9 in a previous tale. Although I am unsure.
