My friend Velt gave me this idea.
Since I've written a weird scp and a gross scp, I thought why not go for an emotional one. The picture is of my dog. Yes, her name is Mattie.

Since people seem to like this, here's some spoilers. In case it wasn't completely obvious.
mattie isn't magic. scp-2420 isn't a latent reality bender. the emotional world can affect the physical. the magnitude of their love for each other, mixed w/ scp-2420's depression and mattie's tendency to bully other dogs. the anomaly is predicated on them having such an idiosyncratic relationship.
Mattie was put to rest today. I’ll always remember her and hope you will, too. I’ll let you know if I see her again.
God. This is so good yet so sad yet uplifting in a way and i need tissues oh god
Really well-written. All your characters and situations feel believable, and this is a Foundation that feels and sounds logical in how it does things and proceeds.
your mattie is ok right shes still doin good???
Yes don't worry. My dog is totally alive and still terrified of rain.

^ pretend i added one of those
really though, you managed to make the guy's love for his dog show through without going the route of him being all incredibly emotional and weepy, which makes it that much more believable and impactful. +1

My dog is really old for his breed, so now you made me super sad for what I know is inevitable, and for a fictional stranger and his little dog. I need a hug.
+1, you beautiful monster.
headaches and confusion
This phrase doesn't read very clinically to me.
Edit: Do pictures of the dog literally cause head pain? I am really confused by this sentence and am really reluctant to upvote because of this.
This was actually my sticking point as well. I love the concept, but tone issues are keeping me from upvoting the page.
"WELL FOUNDATION. YOU MADE IT SO EASY. SO VERY VERY EASY." - dimensionpotato
How can I turn your downvote into an upvote, Troy? What tone issues bother you so?
I am not Troy, but:
This resulted in headaches and confusion regarding certain photos and videos
Are these literal headaches or metaphorical? For whom did this result occur?
Look right below this. I answered it for you, friend. Also what's a metaphorical headache?
"Upstream Color was too cerebral, and it gave me a headache" is metaphorical unless my head literally hurts if I watch the film.
Oh no, no. Certain pictures of the dog cause, uh, as said, confusion and headaches, which I guess isn't the most clinical thing to say? It's because some pictures of SCP-2420-1 instances, like, show this dude effortlessly carrying, say, a German Shepherd or show a much larger breed doing small dog things. Not every picture is immediately going to be headache-inducing. Just the ones that seem to be showing something impossible due to inherent size differences.
Also do you have any suggestions as to how I should get that across in a more clinical way?
Are the headaches literal? In which case: "Subjects viewing photographs of larger SCP-2420-2 in situations that would be impossible due to the dog's size have reported mental distress and physical discomfort, including migraine headaches in 65% of cases."
If they are metaphorical then drop them completely, as it has no place in a clinical paper.
I'm just gonna change that to physical discomfort and mental distress, then. Also, yeah, it's not metaphorical. This, I know.
I think I have trouble believing that a picture of a Saint Bernard fitting into a small space causes physical discomfort. People can look at impossible seeming things all the time without effecting vascular dilation. What if the photo was just photoshopped?
The difference being that those things seem impossible because they exploit the tricks our brain uses to make sense of visual information, whereas these pictures really are impossible. It's as difficult to conceptualize as a wholly new color would be, and it could have any sort of effects on the human brain/body.

This was really well written. +1 for a great story.
I hate you for giving me feels so early, but love you for what you wrote here. Take your +1 and hand me the tissues, dammit.
