This is a rewrite of the recently posted "Why don't you eat a potato?" by Radioactive Rads, done with their permission and feedback.

And if you would like to be as morally upstanding as Ruprecht Carter and do your part for the Enviroment, please consider setting Ecosia as your default search engine. They're carbon negative, being powered entirely by renewables and selling their surplus back to the grid, they have a better privacy policy than Google, and their profits fund tree-planting efforts world-wide. Each web search effectively sucks 1 kg of CO² out of the air, and approximately every 45 searches plants a tree. #notsponsored.

This was delightful. Minor pedant point - in the ceremonial magickal traditions I'm familiar with, actual cutting is done with a boline, not an athame.

I greatly enjoyed this story. "Her Surreal Majesty" is the best regal title I can conceive of.

A lot of good character conveyed through logs with this one. Painted a clear narrative at a good pace and was wildly entertaining throughout.
