EDIT: sorry for stealing the author post spot, but now you’ve fixed the listpages it’s a big fat +1. I loved the draft and love the article
Thank you, friend.
Well, here it is - the sequel to 3240, (which you should read if you want this to make ANY sense) and the conclusion of Agent Miller's story. Thanks to everyone who critiqued me in chat, and to edna, who helped me with the nightmare that is listpages.
If you're interested in writing about the Verdant/Veldt, please shoot me a PM here or over chat and I'd be thrilled to discuss it with you - let's maybe make this a canon!
Love all the concepts at play here, love the story, love the writing.
I'll definitely get involved in the Verdant/Veldt dynamic in a future article.
You could definitely do more to ease readers into this if they haven't read the previous article- it hits you with a lot of esoteric vocabulary right up front and is supremely technocratic in terms of language construction throughout the description. That being said, the logs do an excellent job of making Miller into a character we can empathize with. Strong characterization in the second half saves an article with a description that requires re-reading and re-re-re-reading in order to follow what's going on. +1
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
I liked this, but I really feel like the ending is a bit anticlimactic, as others have expressed.
