My Science Jimmies are so incredibly rustled right now.
Cold is not an energy.
Cold is defined as an ABSENCE of certain kind of energy.
Extremely fundamentally basic stuff.
Any/all parts of the skip that have to do with "energy obtained from cold" nuclear-blasted my suspension of disbelief into sub-atomic particles and gave me a scientific rage boner.
It's OK to write skips that have different laws of physics, but if you do, you cannot change the established definition of something in the real world physics system without creating and describing a new definition for the word "cold" and "energy" in your own radically different fictional physics system. Just make up a new word arbitrarily and define that as the concept of coldness in your skip physics. Please don't use the established definitions incorrectly.
Edit : "Energy derived from lack of heat" is worded somewhat less offensively but still bothers me a lot, because it wouldn't be "energy" as our physics systems defines it. Maybe I'm just over sensitive to science things, and that's fair enough. No-vote for now.
