This is what happens when I talk with people about Warehouse 13 and the Horizon Initiative. This is based partly off the fact that an episode W13 had a certain sword in it… as a one-off joke, and not at all relevant to the main plot. Caledflwch deserves some respect, people.

This was also inspired by the fact that everyone gets King Arthur so, so, so fucking wrong. Everyone imagines Sir Pendragon as being a king in the 15th century sense, when he was around during the 5th century. The Fifth Century. Merlin's wizard hat would be a shaman crown, the Knights of the Round Table would probably be a disorganized, possibly barbarous, rabble, and things like Arthur's supposed conception of Mordred by his half-sister probably wouldn't have been as frowned upon.

Currently, the title for this is "The Pen Is Mightier", but I'm open to suggestions as to what a better title could be.

I dunno how I feel about this, or want to feel. It starts out alright, and when it hits 2307-2, my interest is renewed before I can grow too bored, but the statements at the end don't pull me in. I feel like it's some abstract story with not much connection to the skip, which is a problem I have in other articles. Going through all the statements feels like a bit of a chore, in this regard. Also, to be honest, I'm not quite sure how the Broken God is supposed to fit into this. So ultimately, neutral-vote.

However:

Following this, all records pertaining to the subject will gradually distort in a manner that reflects positively on the subject

and in some cases, gender

This is a bit subtle, and I didn't even catch this first time reading it through. I like this bit a lot.

While I can't help with most of that, concerning His Clockwork Grace...

Excalibur was forged with a piece of the Broken God's pen- or to be more precise, a stylus, one that probably wrote on chalk or in wet clay. The stylus wrote the word of God, and after it broke, it became defective and started messing up stuff written by or about the people that touched it. It's one of the reasons why CotBG scripture is so contradictory; with the pen unmade, everyone had their own versions of the Word of God. Think Tower of Babel, but instead of languages being shattered and created, its' whole religious texts.

It feels too long to me. My interest started to fade reading through all of the statements. Not that they didn't have an interesting story, (and a fairly cohesive one), I just found it lacking. Other than that, a good idea.

Felt like the addenda were too long. The main thing holding me back from an upvote is a tenuous connection to the -2 (that might be in the addenda, who knows, tl;dr).

I will say that I rolled my eyes when I saw the names of the lakes followed by "SCP-2307 is a sword", but you turned me around on that prejudice with the effects. This just needs a little more cohesion and less article.

This is still pretty good, although it feels a bit more bloated than the last draft I read. Did you make changes, or is that feeling just me?

This is an interesting take on the Arthurian legend until inexplicably the Church of the Broken God is involved. I read your under-the-cut rationale for that, but it doesn't play in the article for me. I'm reading what seems like an overpowered item, which happily blends into Arthuriana, then I'm smacked with Mekhane nonsense.

I usually dislike entries that ride the coattails of existing myths, but you had something going there until a GOI got crammed in—quite needlessly from my perspective.

Initially I thought it was an Arthurian-based SCP, and then I read deeper and saw the CotBG references. My only issue is that the later portions are rather hard to follow, although your commentaries helped in filling in the blanks.

Well, I'm always into mythology-based SCPs. And I am clearly a fan of the CotBG. And both aspects are incorporated seamlessly and in an intriguing manner that does justice to the source material. Upvote is expected before the article is made.

EDIT: If I'm not mistaken, there are theories that the King Arthur myth originated among the Samaritans who migrated from the Caucasus. Given that many recent CotBG skips being centred in the Mediterranean and Russia, where would this SCP's place be in such a canon?

All in all I like it. I'm particularly amused by the 082 reference, as he is the worst possible eye witness.
