Take all of my upvotes sirrah. This is great work you're doing.
It's a bit cliche, but I think the way it's presented really pulls it up.
I do like the presentation, but honestly it was too cliche'd for me. This format feels wasted on a storyline like this when there's room for so much more.
I feel a bit similar, honestly, but my love for stuff that pushes new formats and directions for telling stories outweighs that.
I echo these exact sentiments. The writing is only one part of this, the presentation is another. I think the aesthetically pleasing medium used here is very, very enjoyable, even if the story is cliche.
Like the plot, though as Zyn said, it seemed predictable.
Though the commands…
*wince*
I'll help with renaming the commands to ones less silly (Typing this on a linux system right now).
Better code:
$ /sbin/fsck
$ ps | grep "cron" | xargs kill
Explanation:
$ is a symbol that appears before every line in a bash shell.
1. fsck is a command that fixes inconsistencies in the system
2. ps lists all processes, grep searches the list, and kill kills all matching processes (Not exactly, but closer)
Though I think a Foundation AI would be beyond shell commands and .exe files. Maybe change to AI subroutines? <- Idea came from Halo books (Don't Judge).
Mind if I create tales about the AIAD?
Well maybe when I have time
Really all that gobbledy-gook code is the crom.png file regurgitated into a .txt and then jumbled up again. I'm not a programmer by trait, so I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to program like an AI would. I hope I can suspend some disbelief in that area.
And by all means, make an AIAD tale if you feel so inclined. I'll put it up on the hub.
I sort of think of an AI using the host system's shell commands and .exe files as being equivalent to a person jiggling the handle of a locked door to make sure it isn't just stuck, and then trying to kick it down. Clearly their automatic root control of the system isn't working, so the manual approach is at least worth a shot.

The excitingly colorful format can't save the predictably drab storyline.
Yes, the plot was predictable, but I still loved it. Can't wait for the next chapter!
Also, Crom is quite the character.
